# Renaissance-
For me Renaissance gave me
Mixed feeling
Different feeling for the first half and second half
But before all of this I was already very stressed
Looking for my classmates to take attendance
I running around in circles looking for all of them
On the Way running into friends from my CCA
From other classes
And even from other schools
Seeing some of them even helped me get rid of some stress
After about half an hour
Most of the people who had come to watch Renaissance
Were already inside
I was telling my classmates
"Go in first"
And finally the last person came
What a relief
But one person forgot to bring his ticket
So I was still pretty stressed
I ended up messaging my form tutor and getting no reply
After all of us got into the hall
We took our seats
I told me classmates they could switch their seats
Among themselves
My seat was absolutely...
Horrid
I could barely see the screen
I could only see half the band
And that was when I was leaning over the edge
Well I guess that was for the better
The first half was agonizing for me
Not that the performance was bad
On the contrary it was great
Actually felt quite happy I couldn't see much of the band
Watching it was heartbreaking
I could almost feel my imaginary heart cracking
I felt as if I was in the wrong place
That I should have been backstage or on stage
Guess part of an old performer's spirit is still in me
A choir member
And a novice actor
And it wants to satisfy it's craving
To be on stage
But was it to fulfill a need to entertain the audience with
Songs sung
Dramatizations
Or did I just want to be in the spotlight
Not used to be in the audience
Usually being the performer
It just killed me
As they continued my sorrow turned into anger
There were a few boys on a lower than me
All fooling around
The was one even bouncing up and down in his seat
When I asked him to stop
He said he was just enjoying the music
Looking into the huge group of boys at the back of the hall
I saw handphone lights
A Kallang Wave
Sorry, not just one
They say boys will be boys
But I wish they were more mature
The Emcees were really entertaining
They really made the audience laugh
When they told us of the order of performances
I was delighted to hear there was going to be a choir performing
Other than all of that
At the start they had the Josephian March
Which they were changing to the Generation March
Due to it taking like three generations to perfect it
I think the Generation March sounded a lot cleaner
But I don't really like the title
Generation instead of Josephian
When the first half ended
I just walked straight out of there
I wanted to find my friends and talk to them
Instead of just walking around
Which I still ended up doing while looking for my form tutor
So after the twenty minute break
Everyone was back in their seats
They continued on
With one Emcee missing
But as they say in show business
The show must go on
But I don;t want to elaborate much on the music
I actually couldn't really be bothered
But I enjoyed this part much more than the first part
I think my mood was lighter now
So I could enjoy the performance better
When St Ant's Choir performed
It was kind of a let down
Through most of the performances I've been to and performed
With my Primary school's Choir
There was at least one song which was
More upbeat and fun
So listening to this choir was quite a let down
Even though they were great
My favourite piece throughout the entire Renaissance
Was by the Alumni Band
The theme for Pirates of the Caribbean
Brought back memories
First thing that came to my mind after I realised what it was
Was a SMS my friend had sent me
We had somehow watched Pirates of the Caribbean 3 on the same day
And one of the things she said about the movie was
I love Jack Sparrow! So hot so hot.
That was like the first thing that came to my mind
As the song progressed
I imagined Will and Elizabeth dancing on the stage
In front of the band
And they were like just there in one pose
Will holding up Elizabeth's hand
His hand stretched behind him
With Elizabeth doing the same
Don't you wish you could be there
In their place
On the empty stage
Dancing
Without a care in the world
No one around
But even if there was
You wouldn't care
No one's there to you
On one but her
But overall
Through the heartache
The music
The stress
I would have hated to have had missed it...
Was All The Hearbreak Over Not Being Able To Perform? Y
